Thanksgiving in Greenwich!

This year we had the pleasure of celebrating Thanksgiving with our own family,in addition to multiple families.  The most interesting Thanksgiving meals was our celebration in Greenwich, which was a classic All-American Thanksgiving, and our Persian Thanksgiving, which was amazingly delicious but had a totally different feel.  I love learning about different cultures (especially at holiday time when the yummy foods come out!)…

Our Greenwich Thanksgiving meal was at the Diamontopulos house, which is an incredible Swiss chalet style home on Cognewaugh Road in Cos Cob.  The festivities began early with hors d’œuvres and sterling conversation at 11 am. By around 1 pm,the turkey was ready, and everyone gathered around the kitchen island to watch John carve the bird.  The smell of Thanksgiving filled the house…turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts,  mashed potatoes, baked ziti and green beans with carrots:

There were around 25-30 people at our Greenwich Thanksgiving, which was no problem for this house.  Here Bill Mason (the go-to man in Greenwich for commercial real estate) and John Diamontopulos (one of the top architects in the entire Greenwich / Westchester area) enjoyed their meal:

Another guest at the Thanksgiving table was Jack Philip, who is one of the best guys to go to for HVAC services in Greenwich,Westchester and all of Fairfield county really.  Jack is also extremely interesting because he is refurbishing an entire boat and basically knows everything about anything you can think of:

And of course there was lots of family, both young and old…it really felt like an All-American Thanksgiving:

Greenwich Family Thanksgiving

We had to leave early, but this is the home where I brought my Thanksgiving Dessert Tray.  I have already posted recipes (and the variations I made) for Magnolia Bakery’s Shelly’s Cherry Squares and Magnolia Bakery’s Raspberry Cream Cheese Breakfast Buns, but I have had requests for my chocolate goo bars and my lemon squares, which I promise to work on over the next few weeks,so please check back,or signup to receive my RSS Feed!

Thank you so much to the Diamontopulos family for including us in your Thanksgiving Meal!
