I am so lucky to have so many fabulous people in my life,so this year I had multiple Thanksgiving meals! My first meal was more of a Thanksgiving lunch or early Thanksgiving dinner (a brilliant idea so that you have many hours to digest all of the food before going to sleep!),and was at a gorgeous home in Greenwich,CT. Since I live right next door,it was easy enough to bring over two trays of baked goodies for dessert. I always keep a box of cake circles / rectangles (those cardboard circles / rectangles you use to decorate cakes on) in my house. So for these trays I just covered two cardboard cake circles in aluminum foil. The first tray had Magnolia Bakery’s recipes for Shelly’s Cherry Squares and Raspberry Cream Cheese Breakfast Buns,in addition to my special recipe for lemon bars:
The second dessert tray was made up again of Magnolia Bakery’s recipes for Shelly’s Cherry Squares and Raspberry Cream Cheese Breakfast Buns, but also my famous Chocolate Goo Bars and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars:
I wasn’t able to stay until dessert at this Thanksgiving meal, but I was told that everything was a great success and fights even broke out over who would get what. The number one, most loved dessert though,as usual, was not from my new “More from Magnolia”cookbook…it was my Chocolate Goo Bars! I have two requests to make more of them…so I will have a post shortly on my secret recipe
